Course Description
In attempting to heal the human personality, we have witnessed a rift between psychology and spirituality for generations. The two have been at opposite polarities and now with the Jungian, Transpersonal and 12 Step models, it is becoming evident that this separation can be further from the truth. In these times of crisis, more spirituality is needed as well as faith in the human element. Lasting healing can occur when an individual’s psychological and spiritual health can be seen as one. What seems to be required to change behavior is to change the motivations that effect behavior. Long term mental and emotional health requires more than a temporary reduction of symptoms. What is required is a higher consciousness, or a spiritual intelligence, from which a larger sense of self can be derived.
Souldrama®,recognized as one of the new advances in psychodrama, is a transpersonal therapeutic, psychospiritual group action model that leads participants through seven sequential stages of spiritual development with the goal of accessing our spiritual intelligence. Souldrama can help group members move past resistance in their lives by aligning the ego and soul so that they may recognize and move on to their higher purpose.
We all have the collective responsibility of continuing the works of our creator to become all that we can be and not be limited by the cultural conserves of society. Psychodrama makes the expansion of reality possible by methods not used in life. Souldrama takes this one step further by providing a circular model and to spur the soul into action bringing forth its spontaneity and creativity. This process moves us from our Rational Intelligence (what I think) to our Emotional Intelligence (what I feel) and Spiritual Intelligence (what I am) so that we can integrate all three intelligences in our lives, live in the present and access our higher consciousness.
Join this fascinating program offering a transformative journey through the doorways of Souldrama, releasing the places in your life where you feel stuck, while exploring the intersection of Balinese culture and the western creative arts therapies. Our program is presented by Connie Miller founder of Souldrama, a transformative process that blends psychology and spirituality in action.
The legendary island of Bali is world renowned for its unique cultural traditions that continue to exist today. Here we find indigenous practices that showcase the mysteries of music, trance, dance, art and storytelling as components of cultural healing. There are few places left in our modern world where such living traditions are still thriving, deeply revered by its people, and all contained in a place of unparalleled natural beauty.
8th century legend tells of a Javanese priest, Rsi Markendya, who meditated at the confluence of two rivers (an auspicious site for Hindus) at the Ubud locality of Campuan. Here he founded the Gunung Lebah Temple on the valley floor, the site of which remains a pilgrim destination.
The town was originally important as a source of medicinal herbs and plants; Ubud gets its name from the Balinese word ubad (medicine).
